The Peruvian Embassy in Dublin [Door of the Month – August 2024]

Dublin, Ireland

Ireland is where my love of door photography began. For years, I would go for a coffee walk in the morning with my husband. He’d patiently hold my cuppa while I stopped to photograph one of Dublin’s countless colorful Georgian doors.

I had a chance to return to Dublin recently for a short business trip. I visited a number of “old friends” (i.e., my favorite doors around the city).

The Peruvian Embassy on Fitzwilliam Square is probably one of Dublin’s most famous doors. I usually focus in on lesser known gems, but when I walked by, I couldn’t resist taking the shot.

The morning sunlight had lit up the bright green summer ivy and I love how you can see a blue sky dappled with fluffy clouds reflected in the fanlight.

Seeing this door again definitely made me feel homesick for Ireland.
