Is Matosinhos worth visiting? If you love doors as much as I do, the answer is a resounding yes. This small city of 172,000 people is located about 15 minutes by car from Porto Airport and is a worthwhile Porto day trip.

This lovely Matosinhos door with intricate metalwork covering both the lites in the door panels and the transom window really caught my eye. Of course, the Portuguese tiles are the real winner here.
