This winter has been crazy cold. I arrived in New York City for my day job on January 26th, a day after a huge winter storm roared through the area and dumped over a foot of snow on Manhattan.
Fortunately, the sidewalks were clear on Tuesday, so I was able to bundle up and go door hunting on my way from the hotel to the office. I am a firm believer that there is no bad weather, just bad clothing choices!

I’ve already shared a few of my favorite stone-cold doors from the trip in the door of the week competition. My door of the month continues along these lines.
When I walked past the stately lion guarding the front stoop of two neighbor doors that were covered in snow and then looked more closely to see a second lion in a planter near one of the front doors, I thought, “Aha! This is my door of the month!”.
I think this door perfectly captures the spirit of my travels last month: cold but stoic.
