Ålesund
Ålesund, Norway is known for its density of Art Nouveau architecture. Why? The city burned to the ground in the winter of 1904 and was rebuilt at the height of the Art Nouveau movement.
Exploring everything Art Nouveau at the Jugenstil Museum was one of my favorite things to do in Ålesund, one of the stops on our Norwegian road trip.
I spotted this simple door with Art Nouveau elements (those curved lines!) on a humble white facade close to where we were staying.
